Advanced Placement and Honors
Honors Classes
Honors classes provide an enriched, challenging, educational opportunity with extended content and additional workload for students intending to select advanced placement courses in higher grades.
Advanced Placement Classes
Advanced Placement classes provide motivated high school students with the opportunity to take college-level courses in a high school setting. Students who participate in the Advanced Placement program gain college-level skills. All semester grades in AP courses are weighted in students' grade point average. Students may also earn college credit by achieving a passing score on an end-of-course AP exam. Exams are given at Rancho in the spring. Information about AP exams and released test questions are posted on the College Board website at http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/about.html.
